The Boys and the Beast

Once upon a time, long, long ago, there were two boys separated from their families, lost in the woods. These boys hated eachother so, and would constantly bicker, unable to work together to survive.

One day, while one was sleeping, the other boy wandered out in the woods looking for something to eat. In the woods, he found a beast, stuck in a trap built by the grown-ups. It pleaded with the boy. “Please, let me out!”

The boy, selfish as ever, refused the beast his request. So the beast said thus, “I see that you’re alone in these woods, and you look thin. I can hunt for you, I can get you food!”

The boy thought to himself. “I will let you go, but I do not want you to hunt for me. I have this person with me who I absolutely hate! If I release you, I shall have you go and maim him, dead!” The beast nodded its head, and the boy let him go.

The boy lead him to the sleeping child, and the beast fulfilled his promise, as the boy watched in delight. When the job was done, the beast slowly turned to the still living boy, and he said “Finally now that I am free, you think I would stop at just one little boy?”

So the beast killed them both, and wore their skins as a suit.
